Job overview:
AIMS is seeking a compassionate and highly qualified Clinical Psychologist to provide behavioral health services at Byars Health Clinic, 43rd Medical Squadron, Pope Army Airfield, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The Clinical Psychologist will work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary Behavioral Health team, providing comprehensive psychological evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and counseling services to Active Duty Air Force personnel. 
This position is a full-time, on-site federal contract opportunity supporting military readiness and the mental health needs of our nation's service members. 
 
Responsibilities 
The Clinical Psychologist will: 
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations.  
  • Perform diagnostic assessments for behavioral health conditions.  
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and Provide evidence-based psychotherapy.  
  • Deliver individual counseling and Facilitate group psychotherapy sessions.  
  • Perform behavioral assessments and Administer and interpret psychological testing.  
  • Conduct psych diagnostic evaluations.  
  • Complete alcohol and substance abuse evaluations.  
  • Consult with physicians, psychiatrists, military commanders, legal authorities, and other healthcare professionals.  
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning.  
  • Attend Behavioral Health meetings and Quality Improvement meetings.  
  • Participate in professional staff conferences.  
  • Assist with military-specific behavioral health programs including:  
  • Command Directed Mental Health Evaluations  
  • Deployment and Redeployment Screening  
  • PTSD Assessments  
  • Combat Stress Evaluations  
  • Security Clearance Evaluations (when applicable)  
  • Participate in clinical quality improvement activities.  
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and DHA policies.  
  • Complete all mandatory DHA and Army training requirements.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Behavioral Health leadership.   
Minimum Qualifications 
Candidates must possess:
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Degree from an APA-accredited doctoral program.
  • Completion of an APA-accredited clinical internship.
  • Current, unrestricted Clinical Psychologist license in any U.S. State, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Minimum one (1) year of recent clinical experience within the past two years as a practicing Clinical Psychologist.
  • Current National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • U.S. Citizenship (required).
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates with experience in: 
  • Military Behavioral Health
  • Department of Defense (DoD)
  • Veterans Affairs (VA)
  • PTSD treatment
  • Trauma-focused therapies
  • Substance Use Disorder treatment
  • Integrated Behavioral Health
  • Military culture and operational psychology 
Work Schedule:
  • Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM-4:00 PM with 40 hours per week with Federal holidays observed 
  • No nights, No weekends and No on-call responsibilities

Required Training:
Selected candidates must complete Government-required training, including:
  • DoD Cyber Awareness
  • Anti-Terrorism (AT) Level I
  • Operations Security (OPSEC)
  • Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR)
  • iWATCH Awareness
  • Military Treatment Facility orientation
  • Any additional DHA-required training 
Pre-Employment Requirements 
Candidates must successfully complete:
  • Government credentialing and privileging
  • Background investigation
  • Drug screening (if required)
  • Occupational health clearance
  • Physical examination documentation
  • Required immunizations and vaccinations
  • Tuberculosis screening (if applicable)
  • Common Access Card (CAC) processing
  • Verification of education, licensure, certifications, and employment history 
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to:
  • Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Perform duties in a clinical healthcare environment.
  • Meet all occupational health requirements established by the Department of Defense.
