The Staff Psychologist is assigned to the US military treatment facility in Stuttgart Germany:

Clinical Psychologist

(includes Adult and Child)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • Education: Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a

doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology. Additional training is required for psychology

specialties. Refer to the DHA PM 6025.13, vol. 4 for requirements.

  • Internship/Residency: Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American

Psychological Association.

  • Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the credentialing

instruction. Child Psychologist - Have at least two years experience providing family centered services to

a population of young children with disabilities and their families, including diagnosis and treatment of

sleeping, feeding, attachment, and other behavior disorders using behavior management and other techniques.

Preferred: Prior experience working with/or treating active duty servicemembers and/or their family members and/or having a sound working knowledge of military culture.

Licensure: Are required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the credentialing instruction.

Core Duties:

  • Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical

Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges.

  • Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing,

and collateral sources, as appropriate.

  • Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and

Statistical Manual of Disorders.

  • Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with

illnesses or injuries.

  • Assist in rehabilitation of patients.
  • Administer and interpret psychological test measures.
  • Provide crisis intervention services and triage coverage to clinically assess Service Members in acute emotional distress.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary behavioral health treatment team to provide effective and efficient patient care for Service Members.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessment for suicidality and homicidality
  • Assists with fitness for duty and other report creation (med boards, profiles, etc.)

Hours of Performance:

Hours associated with the work schedule will be scheduled by the MTF or HC supervisor. The Contractor shall provide full coverage for the required hours of performance.

Required services may be scheduled between the hours of 0630 to 1800, Monday through Friday.
