Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Quality Specialist on a Full-Time basis.
The Clinical Quality Specialist position, under the general direction of the Performance Improvement/Risk Management Coordinator, is responsible for clinical quality monitoring and reporting to internal and external audiences. A primary function of this position involves reviewing patient medical records for the purpose of monitoring the quality of patient care provided at Stoughton Hospital. This includes recording data from patient records needed for review of specific treatment patterns.
The Clinical Quality Specialist coordinates the functions and reporting from the Medical Care Evaluation (medical staff peer review) Committee. Responsibilities include chart reviews, writing peer review case descriptions, committee documentation, and follow-up work. Additionally, this position contributes data to the Stoughton Hospital Medical Staff Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) by gathering and tracking practitioner outcomes reviewed by the MCE committee and reporting periodically or as needed.
The Clinical Quality Specialist supports the PI Coordinator as the hospital’s liaison to our accreditation agency for communications, survey preparation, coordination of the survey team on-site, post-survey evidence of standards compliance, and measurement of success in information and data, and use of the website tools. The Clinical Quality Specialist is also a standing member of the hospital’s Performance Improvement Council, Inpatient Leadership Team, Emergency Management, Infection Prevention, Environment of Care, Patient Safety Committee, and the Rural Wisconsin Healthcare Cooperative (RWHC) Roundtable. The Clinical Quality Specialist stays current on clinical quality and best practice initiatives and supports clinical quality teams.
