Overview:

 

We're looking for a detail-oriented Medical Records Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you'll ensure resident medical records are accurate, complete, secure, and compliant with HIPAA and state and federal regulations. You'll work closely with clinical staff to support quality documentation and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper medical records.

  • Scan, organize, retrieve, and securely manage resident records.

  • Audit documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.

  • Monitor HIPAA privacy standards and medical record security.

  • Support Medicare documentation and regulatory requirements.

  • Generate reports and assist with quality improvement initiatives.

  • Educate and support clinical staff on documentation best practices.

  • Collaborate with nursing, admissions, providers, and interdisciplinary team members.

What We're Looking For

  • Associate degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience in medical records, preferably in long-term care or skilled nursing.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, medical record regulations, and medical terminology.

  • Experience with electronic medical records (PointClickCare and/or MatrixCare preferred).

  • Knowledge of diagnostic coding is a plus.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.
