About Us
Epia Neuro is a neural technology company developing intent-driven systems designed to restore function and independence for people living with neurological conditions. Its platform integrates implantable neural interfaces, adaptive algorithms, and assistive devices to translate neural intent into real-world action. The company’s initial focus is stroke-related motor impairment, with expansion in cognitive decline and other neurological disorders, focusing on long-term solutions for the growing aging population.
How We Work
We are intentional. We prioritize and are thoughtful about how we use others' time.
We care for others. We prioritize safety both for patients and one another.
We own outcomes, not just tasks. Our work demands the highest standards because it impacts real patients and real lives.
Humility is a strength. We are honest about what we know and what we don't know. Getting it right matters more than being right.
The Role
We're looking for a Clinical Research Coordinator I to support the day-to-day execution of our user study evaluating a wearable robotic device for people with stroke-related motor impairment. You'll support study documentation, participant scheduling, and in-visit support, working closely with the study and engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and IRB-ready study documentation for study visit workflows, device fitting, and sizing/scanning procedures.
Support participant enrollment and screening, including maintaining enrollment logs and case report forms in compliance with GCP.
Schedule study visits with participants and manage the study calendar, coordinating with the study team and clinical site as needed.
Take anthropometric measurements and 3D scans of participants to inform device sizing and fit, per protocol.
Serve as the participant's day-of point of contact — greeting them on arrival, orienting them to the visit, and guiding them through study activities.
Support in-visit data collection and manage study records (visit logs, case report forms, data quality checks) per protocol and data-handling procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in health sciences, biology, kinesiology, psychology, or a related field.
Familiarity with GCP, IRB protocols, or clinical study documentation is a plus, but not required. We're glad to train the right person.
Comfortable interacting directly with study participants in a professional, welcoming, and reassuring manner.
Strong written communication skills for drafting clear, usable SOPs and study documentation.
Organized and reliable with scheduling and logistics, including managing participant calendars and visit-day timing.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during participant visits.
Comfortable working in close physical proximity to study participants during fittings, measurements, and scans.
Contract Details
Pay rate: $25-30/hour
Schedule: Approximately 20 hours/week; specific days/hours will flex around scheduled participant visit days
Duration: Approximately 4 months, with possible extension depending on study needs
Classification: Part-Time, W-2
Location: Hybrid, with on-site time required at Epia's Alameda, CA headquarters (400 Wind River Way, Suite 102, Alameda, CA 94501) for study visit days and required in-person collaboration.
