    Position Summary

    The Seáñez Lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering studies how neuroprosthetics and motor training can improve movement in people with spinal cord injury (SCI). We are seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II to serve as the operational center of our human subjects research program.

    This is a hands-on, participant-facing position that combines two functions: (1) clinical research coordination across multiple funded clinical trials, including recruitment, scheduling, and regulatory compliance; and (2) direct support of experimental sessions with participants with SCI, including participant preparation, transfers and positioning, and familiarity with research instrumentation.

    The position is well suited to candidates with a background in physical therapy, athletic training, exercise or movement science, or a related health or life science field who want substantive research training, co-authorship opportunities, and sustained contact with the SCI community.     Job Description

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

    Human Subjects Research

    • Identify eligible volunteers with SCI from participant databases
    • Screen and recruit participants across study protocols
    • Coordinate scheduling among participants, study staff, and clinical evaluators
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for study participants; arrange transportation and process payments
    • Maintain scheduling calendars, visit tracking logs, and participant communication records

    Experimental Session Support (hands-on)

    • Assist in preparing participants for testing sessions, including skin preparation, electrode placement, transfers, and positioning
    • Monitor participant comfort and safety; document session notes and flag adverse events or protocol deviations
    • Maintain experimental supplies and ensure post-session equipment cleanup

    Regulatory Oversight and Compliance

    • Prepare and submit IRB applications, amendments, and continuing reviews
    • Maintain ClinicalTrials.gov registration and reporting
    • Keep study binders, delegation logs, enrollment records, and source documents in audit-ready condition
    • Track and coordinate study staff training and certifications (CITI, GCP, BLS)

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Salary Range

    $54,600.00 - $81,900.00 / Annually

    The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
