The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Psych - Behavioral Neurobiology, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II.
The Sleep, Circadian and Neuroimaging (SCN) lab is looking for a clinical research coordinator (level II) with experience in managing complex clinical trials to ensure operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and data integrity in clinical research. The responsibilities encompass implementing clinical research protocols, managing daily lab operations, training junior staff, including student assistants, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and coordinating with clinical and research teams.
General Responsibilities
To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations Management: Oversees day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient lab functioning. Implements clinical research protocols and manages clinical trial operations, handling patient recruitment, screening, and retention. Manages laboratory inventory, including ordering, stocking, and tracking supplies. Identifies and resolves operational bottlenecks or inefficiencies. Implement improvements to lab processes and workflows. Trains and assists junior lab members with study visits, data collection, data entry, and data analysis.
Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensures adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), IRB, and FDA regulations. Maintains detailed records for audits and inspections. Implements and monitors Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols. Ensures ethical handling and processing of biological samples and data. Assists with IRB protocol development and submission.
Data management: Maintains accurate and secure records of clinical data and sample processing. Implements systems for tracking and managing data entry and storage.
Budgeting and Resource Management: Develops and manages the laboratory''s budget. Trains and assists junior lab members with study visits, data collection, data entry, and data analysis. Assists with IRB protocol development and submission.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: $50,050 - $81,330
