    Join the HJF Team!

HJF is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II to join our team at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in clinical research activities, including patient recruitment, consent processes, specimen processing and shipping, study documentation and basic regulatory management for Murtha Cancer Center Research Program (MCCRP) studies. This position is 100% on site.

Note: Due to clearance requirements this position is only able to consider U.S. Citizens.

The Department of Defense (DoD), represented by Uniformed Services University (USU)/MCCRP, is participating in the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Cancer Screening Research Network (CSRN). The CSRN consists of seven civilian healthcare systems, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the DoD. The first study the CSRN is undertaking is a pilot study, known as the Vanguard Study: Testing a New Way to Screen for Cancer, which will enroll approximately 18,000 total participants over four years. Multi-Cancer Detection (MCD) tests claim to screen for several types of cancers using only a blood sample. The Vanguard Study is a feasibility study to explore several aspects of evaluating multi-cancer detection (MCD) tests in a future definitive randomized controlled trial. The results of the Vanguard Study will inform the design of a larger randomized controlled trial involving about 225,000 people. The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) is anticipated to primarily support the conduct and day-to-day activities of the Vanguard Study; however, the CRC may also be cross trained on additional research protocols to provide coverage and support to other studies as operational needs arise.

This position will be in support of the John P. Murtha Cancer Center, whose head office is located at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, in Bethesda, Maryland. The Murtha Cancer Center is a modern, patient-centric, tri-service military healthcare facility. Its comprehensive core of military and civilian oncologists and other cancer-trained clinicians and researchers provide multidisciplinary cancer-care delivery and patient-family support services. Our Cancer Center, the only DoD Cancer Center of Excellence within the Military Health System, offers its patients access to innovative cancer diagnostic and treatment technologies.
