This role supports complex oncology clinical trials with a strong patient-facing focus, coordinating a wide portfolio of studies while contributing to high-profile research in lung and gynecologic (women's health) oncology. The Clinical Research Coordinator manages day-to-day clinical trial activities, works closely with a Program Manager, and mentors incoming staff, helping to ensure high-quality patient care and rigorous study conduct in a prestigious academic research environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and run a multitude of oncology clinical trials, including complex drug studies, from start-up through closeout.
• Serve as a primary patient-facing coordinator, spending approximately 75% of time interacting directly with participants to support recruitment, enrollment, informed consent, and ongoing follow-up.
• Support and execute patient recruitment strategies to meet accrual targets for lung and gynecologic (women's health) oncology studies.
• Manage day-to-day clinical trial operations, including scheduling visits, coordinating procedures, and ensuring protocol adherence.
• Work closely with the Program Manager to plan, organize, and track study timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Utilize clinical research systems to document study activities, manage data, and maintain accurate and compliant trial records.
• Collaborate with clinical operations and clinical study teams to ensure smooth integration of research activities within the clinical and office settings.
• Train incoming staff members on clinical research processes, systems, and protocols, providing mentorship and guidance to support their development.
• Assist with project management tasks related to clinical development, including communication with internal stakeholders and study teams.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, institutional policies, and study-specific procedures throughout all trial activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of clinical research workflows by identifying operational challenges and proposing practical solutions.
• Engage with multidisciplinary oncology teams, including physicians and researchers, to support high-quality patient care and study conduct.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of clinical research experience with direct patient-facing responsibilities.
• Experience running multiple clinical trials, preferably in oncology or complex drug studies.
• Demonstrated experience with clinical research systems used for data capture, documentation, and trial management.
• Background in clinical trial operations, including clinical development and clinical study coordination.
• Experience in oncology clinical research, or in managing complex drug studies, particularly in lung and gynecologic (women's health) indications.
• Proven experience in patient recruitment for clinical trials.
• Experience training and mentoring incoming clinical research staff.
• 3 years of Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) experience with a Master's degree, OR 5 years of CRC experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• Bachelor's degree with at least two years of clinical research experience, OR Master's degree with at least one year of clinical research experience (as a minimum qualification pathway).
• Strong project management capabilities within a clinical research environment.
• Ability to work effectively with a Program Manager and cross-functional clinical teams.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage multiple trials and patient interactions simultaneously.

• Oncology-specific clinical research experience, particularly in lung and gynecologic (women's health) studies.
• Experience working on high-profile studies with large, well-known sponsors.
• Interest in pursuing a project management track within clinical research, especially for senior CRCs.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior staff in a research setting.
• Familiarity with clinical operations within an academic research institute or large healthcare system.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of data quality and regulatory compliance.

The role operates in both clinical and office settings, supporting oncology trials focused on lung and gynecologic (women's health) indications. The position is based in a modern administrative building located in a former Aramark facility a few blocks from the main hospital, near the fashion district of Philadelphia. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philadelphia, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
