  • Adapt to varying study needs, including regulatory and budget-related tasks as assigned, contributing to the flexibility and coverage of the broader research team.
  • Demonstrate initiative and independent learning to understand new protocols, systems, and processes in a high-volume research environment.

  • Demonstrated learning mindset and ability to learn independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage responsibilities across multiple studies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy experience is highly beneficial but not required.
  • Familiarity with research terminology and concepts.
  • Experience working with industry-sponsored and federally funded clinical research studies is an advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively within a large team of clinical research coordinators.
  • Comfort working across multiple subspecialty areas such as Pulmonary Hypertension, Interstitial Lung Disease, Cystic Fibrosis/Bronchiectasis, COPD/Asthma, ICU research, and disease registries.

Work Environment

The role is based within a Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine department that oversees approximately 60-90 active studies supported by a team of around 21 staff, primarily clinical research coordinators. The pulmonary research program includes five main groups-Pulmonary Hypertension, Interstitial Lung Disease, Cystic Fibrosis/Bronchiectasis, COPD/Asthma, and ICU-along with multiple disease registries. The team manages more than 50 active studies, with roughly 80% of studies funded by industry sponsors, while ICU studies are more evenly split with federal grants and registries often supported by departmental or federal funding. Coordinators work in a dynamic, collaborative environment that emphasizes technology proficiency, independent learning, and adaptability to high study volume.
