Clinical Research Coordinators (Non-R.N.)
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated vaccination requirements, or be approved for an exemption, prior to the first day of work. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.
The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator provides advanced leadership and oversight of a complex portfolio of clinical, translational, and health services research studies within the Division of Geriatrics, independently managing studies across the University of Utah and VA Salt Lake City Health Care System.
The Sr. CRC oversees regulatory compliance, participant recruitment and retention, REDCap database management, data quality, and cross-institutional coordination, working closely with faculty investigators to support research productivity and the successful execution of federally funded, foundation-funded, and investigator-initiated research. The role may also include mentoring junior coordinators, research assistants, and trainees.

The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator is a senior operational leader supporting a portfolio of multiple investigators and active protocols across University and VA research environments, serving as a REDCap and regulatory subject matter expert, mentoring research staff, and leading operational improvement initiatives. The role directly contributes to faculty research productivity, grant competitiveness, study enrollment success, and the strategic growth of the Division's research enterprise.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Clinical Research Coordinator (Non-R.N.), IV: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.
Clinical Research Coordinator (Non-R.N.), V: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 10 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 8 years of directly related work experience.
Clinical Research Coordinator (Non-R.N.), VI: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 12 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 10 years of directly related work experience.
