Position Summary/ Department Summary:

The Rosamund Stone Zander and Hansjoerg Wyss Translational Neuroscience Center (TNC) is seeking a Clinical Research Nurse to join our team. The TNC strives to improve the lives of all children with neurodevelopmental disorders by fostering timely and efficient translational research. In collaboration with Principal Investigators and other study team members, the Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) will be responsible for the implementation of clinical research studies supported by the TNC including both clinical research nursing and study project management activities. The CRN specialty focus is on the care of research participants, which is driven by study requirements and the collection of research data, as well as clinical indications. In addition to providing and coordinating clinical research care and safety for study participants, the CRN will have a central role in study project management assuring ongoing regulatory compliance, integrity of protocol implementation, and accuracy of data collection. Studies supported by the CRN may include administration of investigational drugs or devices, performance of experimental or investigational procedures, detailed clinical assessments or phenotyping to characterize the natural history and etiology of a disease, or delivery of psychosocial interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with vitals (height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate).
  • Teaching research participants and their caregivers about study interventions and requirements.
  • Administering ECGs/EKGs.
  • Collecting medication information from research participants and their caregivers.
  • Administering investigational products and post dose monitoring.
  • Performing phlebotomy.
  • Documenting in the medical record.
  • Developing and implementing processes and procedures to meet study goals and protocol requirements.
  • Participating in and preparing study-related trainings.
  • Planning and prioritizing study recruitment, consenting, data collection, and regulatory activities while delegating and providing guidance to study personnel.
  • 40hrs; onsite only to start with potential for hybrid onsite/remote schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Experience:

  • Knowledge of clinical research processes and best practices. Some experience working in clinical research preferred (could be from roles working as a clinical research coordinator, clinical research nurse, and/or clinical research project manager).
  • Experience related to working with and caring for children with a range of neurodevelopmental conditions and behavioral challenges preferred.
  • Analytical skills and in depth, cross-functional, experienced-based knowledge to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Well-developed communication skills (both oral and written) to provide critical information to internal and external stakeholders, effectively deal with conflicting views or issues, and the ability to mediate fair solutions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project teams.

Licensure/ Certifications:

  • Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN)

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
