Clinical Research Scientist - Discover Center

Full-time / 40 hours per week / Hybrid schedule (2 days in office, 3 days at home)

Summary:

The Clinical Research Scientist will play a pivotal role in advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care through rigorous scientific research. Designs, conducts, and analyzes clinical studies in an acute care setting that are aligned with system strategic goals and priorities. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions to complex medical challenges, ensuring that research findings are translated into clinical practice. The role requires a deep understanding of clinical research methodologies, regulatory requirements, and ethical considerations.

Formal Education Required:

a. PhD in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Medicine, Pharmacology)

Experience and Training Required:

a. Five (5) years of clinical research experience in a healthcare or biomedical research setting

b. Evidence of clinically relevant research publications, preferred

Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

a. Strong analytical and statistical skills.

b. Proficiency in research methodologies and data analysis software.

c. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

d. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

e. Experience with grant writing and securing research funding, preferred.

f. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and ethical standards in clinical research.

g. Demonstrated leadership, management and organizational skills

h. Demonstrated skills in finance/budgeting, computer applications, customer service

i. Demonstrated ongoing commitment to continuous professional growth, development and excellence required

j. Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, and work collaboratively with physicians, hospital staff, patients, and community and industry partners

k. Maintains good physical and emotional well-being and positive attitude

l. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers/coworkers with the understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity

m. Ability to direct own work efforts to assure desired and contracted outcomes.

n. Maintain confidentiality of hospital patient information
