Location: Franklin Lakes, NJ
Pay Rate: $60.10/hour
Schedule: Onsite
Drug Test: 9-panel required
Hepatitis B Vaccine: Required
Position Overview
We are seeking a Clinical Research Specialist to support clinical laboratory research, testing, and evaluation of new or modified in-vitro diagnostic devices. This position will work with human blood specimens and clinical laboratory disciplines including phlebotomy, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and point-of-care testing.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical laboratory experience, technical expertise with laboratory instrumentation, and the ability to conduct testing, analyze data, troubleshoot technical issues, and support clinical research and product development initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scientific investigations and clinical laboratory testing involving human blood specimens.
- Support the design, evaluation, execution, and reporting of clinical studies.
- Operate, maintain, calibrate, and verify laboratory instruments and reagent test systems.
- Generate, read, analyze, and document laboratory data.
- Follow established protocols, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct instrument verification in accordance with CLSI guidelines.
- Develop and implement testing methodologies in collaboration with R&D.
- Prepare and maintain procedures and instrument performance documentation in compliance with GLP and GCP.
- Implement and document Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures.
- Manage laboratory inventory and maintain testing systems.
- Support complaint testing and clinical investigations to resolve customer complaints.
- Apply technical and scientific judgment to troubleshoot laboratory and product-related issues.
- Support product development, clinical testing, manufacturing, and post-market surveillance initiatives.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, marketing, quality, regulatory, and other cross-functional teams.
- Manage individual projects ranging from focused studies to complex projects involving multiple clinical evaluations.
Stay current with developments in Clinical Laboratory Science through technical literature and continuing education.
Identify trends in laboratory practices and recommend new projects or improvements.
Support the generation of scientific and clinical information for product development and evaluation.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, Life
- Sciences, or another health-related field.
- MT/MLT/CLS certification through ASCP or equivalent research experience.
- 5+ years of clinical laboratory experience.
- Strong working knowledge of clinical laboratory science.
- Experience working with human blood specimens.
- Experience with clinical laboratory testing, blood collection, urinalysis, point-of-care testing, and LIS/LIMS systems.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow laboratory protocols and quality procedures.
- Active certification should be verified.
Preferred Qualifications
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Experience with calibration and verification of laboratory equipment.
- Experience generating and analyzing clinical laboratory data.
- Experience troubleshooting products based on clinical results.
- Experience developing or implementing new testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of GCP, GLP, and ISO regulations.
- Strong project planning and budget management skills.
- Experience with clinical research or in-vitro diagnostic devices.
