    Description

    Job Title: Clinical Respiratory Therapist - Pulmonary Function Testing
    Reports To: Clinical Supervisor / Practice Manager
    Compensation: $25.00 per hour

    Job Summary:

    The Clinical Respiratory Therapist is responsible for performing diagnostic respiratory procedures including Body Plethysmography ("Body Box"), full Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs), and basic Spirometry in a clinical outpatient setting. This role supports accurate diagnosis, treatment, and management of pulmonary disorders under the direction of physicians and according to established clinical protocols.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct complete Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs), including:
      • Spirometry (pre- and post-bronchodilator testing)
      • Lung volume measurements using Body Plethysmography
      • Diffusion capacity testing (DLCO)
      • Methacholine or exercise challenge testing (as required)
    • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing equipment in compliance with ATS/ERS standards.
    • Prepare patients for testing by explaining procedures and verifying understanding.
    • Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout testing procedures.
    • Accurately record, interpret, and input test results into the EMR (electronic medical record) system.
    • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to discuss test findings when needed.
    • Maintain appropriate documentation and adhere to HIPAA compliance regarding patient information.
    • Assist in training staff or students as needed.
    • Perform quality assurance procedures and participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and clinical competence.

    Compensation & Benefits:
