    Job Description

    Under the supervision of the Behavioral Health Supervisor of the Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), and the at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital Division of Infant, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (ICAP) this position, held by a Clinical Social Worker, will provide direct care ensuring high quality evidence-based care, adherence to best practices and compliance with regulatory standards in adolescent mental health intensive treatment. Clinical duties involve crisis intervention, psychosocial patient assessments and interventions, mandated reporting, information and referral, non medical discharge planning, and coordination of health and mental health services with community providers. Works in concert with licensed clinicians, counselors, physicians, nurses, utilization management, discharge planners, and other allied health professionals. Assists adolescent patients and their families with addressing social, vocational, and behavioral problems related to their adolescent's mental health condition and facilitates the adolescent patient's movement through the health continuum. Promotes shared decision-making at all levels to ensure a shared voice in practices, exchange of ideas, enhanced communication, and continually improved patient services.

    The IOP maintains a contract with San Department of Public Health Behavioral Health Services (BHS) and all clients are on Medi-Cal insurance and from culturally diverse backgrounds. This position is 100% on-site. As an employee of UCSF and contractor with the City of San Francisco, this position is an essential worker and will continue to support and provide direct service during a natural disaster and or pandemic.

    The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) are embedded in the Division of Infant, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatry (ICAP), part of the Department of Psychiatry at ZSFG. ICAP aims to deliver quality, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed mental health services for youth aged birth to 24 and their families. ICAP embraces a comprehensive, coordinated approach to care that spans the developmental spectrum. Our programs encompass direct care and consultation services in ZSFG clinics, daycares, schools, and various community settings, alongside training and research initiatives.

    Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • CSW I: Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology or related field from an accredited university and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
    • CSWII: Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology or related field from an accredited university and possession of the requirements necessary for application for licensure as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
    • Proficient in evidence-based practices and empirically supported treatments for adolescents and families/caregivers
    • Demonstrated excellent attendance, integrity. professionalism, reliability, and timeliness of paperwork duties
    • Knowledge of the social determinants of health, contextual, and behavioral health needs of youth on public insurance and their families.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills for dealing with patients, families, advocates, and other health care personnel, as well as subordinate staff.
    • Computer proficiency in all relevant information systems, applications, and analysis tools.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

    PREFERRED:

    • Experience working in public specialty mental health settings.
    • Proficient in Epic electronic health record system and data management
    • Experience working with populations that are culturally diverse in gender, sexual orientation, language, disabilities, immigration status, race, and ethnicity.
    • Expertise and knowledge of San Francisco County services and resources for children, youth and families
    • Experience with Medi-Cal and CalAIM changes.
    • Experience in intensive services (intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and/or inpatient settings)
    • Evidence of Qualified Bilingual Staff certification or equivalent (e.g., ALTA).
