Position Summary/Department Summary:
Boston Children’s Hospital Neighborhood Partnerships (BCHNP) is a school-based behavioral health program in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Boston Children's Hospital. BCHNP’s work is grounded in prevention that is adaptable, culturally responsive, and evidence informed. We partner with schools and districts to collaboratively create and sustain comprehensive behavioral health systems that promote the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic well-being of all students, families, staff, and school communities. BCHNP is seeking to hire a full-time clinical consultant to provide systems-level consultation, professional development, and capacity-building support to school districts. The consultant will work in partnership with district leaders and school-based teams to strengthen infrastructure, enhance cross-sector collaboration, and build sustainable systems that promote student well-being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the BCHNP team and district/school-based teams to implement and evaluate a school behavioral health consultation model.
- Serve as the assigned clinical consultant and primary point of contact for 4 school districts (full-time) or 2 school districts (part-time).
- Provide systems-level consultation and ongoing support on-site and virtually to school leaders and teams to strengthen infrastructure, teaming practices, and sustainable implementation efforts.
- Co-design, facilitate, and evaluate professional development for school professionals using a framework that promotes shared learning, reflection, and continuous improvement.
- Cultivate and manage strong school partnership relationships with key collaborators, ensuring clear communication, alignment of goals, and responsiveness to school and district needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: - Master’s degree in social work
Experience: - Several years of previous social work experience in the field of school- based behavior health is essential, 7–10 years of experience in school-based behavioral health, with experience serving diverse communities, including rural, suburban, and urban districts of all sizes, with a background in education and knowledge of school teams and infrastructure highly preferred.
- Experience collaborating with multiple schools and districts as the primary liaison.
- Experience providing systems-level consultation to school leaders, multidisciplinary teams, and district leadership on behavioral health, social-emotional learning, academics, and systems-level implementation ideal.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with others to design and facilitate professional development for K–12 audiences, with a strong commitment to equity and social justice when considering content for the training.
- Work effectively both independently and within a team environment, communicating clearly and strategically to problem-solve and advance multiple initiatives simultaneously.
