Clinical Staff Educator - Telemetry

Annual salary range: $116,833.60min. -  $169,416.00 max.

Reporting to the Director, this position requires a full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Redlands Community Hospital. Through demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill, and competence, the Clinical Educator facilitates learning, educational experiences, and educational activities for nursing personnel through direct and indirect methods. The Clinical Educator plans, develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates orientations, in-services, and continuing education/staff development programs in collaboration with directors, managers, staff, physicians, hospital departments, and others as needed. He/she acts as an education advisor to the nursing staff and managers to identify learning needs and designs, implements, and evaluates standards of practice. The Clinical Educator models’ professional roles and behaviors that assist nursing personnel in acquiring competency, knowledge, and clinical skills, demonstrating accountability and responsibility in clinical practice while adhering to the Patients First philosophy of safety, compassion, and efficiency. He/she functions as a change agent to improve patient care and supports interdisciplinary collaboration.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

1. BSN required; MSN preferred.
2. Professional certification in specialty recommended.
3. Four years’ experience in acute care nursing with two years in area of specialty required.
4. Demonstrated progressive teaching and communication skills preferred.
5. Two years’ experience with program/course design, presentation, and evaluation preferred.
6. Knowledge of computer (Word, Excel, and e-mail functions) required.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

1. Current California State RN license required.
2. Current CPR instructor certification required within 6 months of hire (for med-surg, Maternal child, and surgical educator)
3. Current ACLS instructor certification required within 6 months of hire (for Telemetry, ICU, ED educator, Maternal Educator); instructor certification preferred.
4. Current PALS instructor certification required within 6 months of hire (for OR and ED educator)
5. NIHSS certification required (for ED, Telemetry, ICU, and OR educator)
