The clinical staff pharmacist is responsible for provision of distributive, clinical and educational pharmacy functions. In accordance with state and federal laws that govern pharmacy practice, the clinical staff pharmacist strives to maintain a complete and current command of dynamic pharmaceutical and health sciences, to provide pharmaceutical care throughout the hospital.
Provides pharmacy services within the pharmaceutical care model of practice; providing safe, appropriate, efficacious and cost-effective drug therapy for achieving definite outcomes that improve a patient's quality of life.
Interacts and participates as part of the multi-disciplinary health care team that designs, implements and monitors patient care plans.
Serves as an educator to patients, their families, and other health professionals.
Serves as a leader, educator and role model for pharmacy students and interns.
Serves as supervisor for pharmacy technicians and clerk and reports to the Director of Pharmacy (DOP).
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited college or university with Pharmacy degree.
Licensed Pharmacist with the Kentucky State Board of Pharmacy in good standing.
Pharm.D. or relevant clinical hospital pharmacy experience is desirable.
Must provide documentation of state licensure and CE as required by the state of KY.
Maintain BLS & ACLS certifications
Advanced clinical training or PGY1 residency preferred
