Clinical Support Supervisor

Location: 5625 Eiger Road, Suite 200, Austin, TX 78735
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm Occasional Saturdays: 2–3 days per year
Employment Type: Full‑time, Onsite

Position Summary

The Clinical Support Supervisor oversees daily clinical operations, staff performance, and workflow efficiency across a busy outpatient practice. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to manage a large team while making independent operational decisions that support patient care and staff success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Staff oversight — Supervise all clinical staff (up to 30 MAs) and ensure adequate daily coverage.

  • Same‑day call‑out management — Respond quickly to call‑outs and adjust staffing to maintain clinic operations.

  • Scheduling coverage — Ensure sufficient staffing for daily schedules, urgent needs, and occasional Saturday clinics.

  • Supply & inventory management — Oversee ordering, inventory control, and vaccine/supply readiness.

  • Training & onboarding — Lead onboarding for new hires and provide ongoing training for existing staff.

  • Workflow optimization — Identify issues, troubleshoot processes, and implement improvements.

  • Athena EMR expertise — Utilize Athena for clinical workflows, reporting, and staff support.

  • Excel reporting — Create and maintain operational reports using Excel.

  • Recruitment — Interview and hire clinical staff in partnership with providers.

  • Operational collaboration — Attend monthly Ops meetings and support other department leaders as needed.

  • Urgent care staffing — Coordinate coverage for Saturday urgent care clinics and maintain schedules.

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant certificate preferred

  • High School Diploma required

  • Experience supervising large clinical teams (20+ staff)

  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills

  • Experience with Athena EMR

  • Excel reporting proficiency

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
