Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Supervisor to provide clinical leadership, supervision, and oversight within a behavioral health treatment program serving individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.

The Clinical Supervisor will provide direct supervision to clinical staff, including clinicians working toward independent LPC or LCSW licensure, while helping ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and clinically appropriate behavioral health services.

This position is ideal for an experienced licensed clinician who enjoys developing other professionals, improving clinical programming, and providing leadership within a collaborative treatment environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical supervision to behavioral health clinicians, including staff working toward LPC or LCSW licensure.
  • Monitor staff licensure, certification, credentialing, and ongoing professional requirements.
  • Supervise and evaluate clinical practice to ensure high-quality client care.
  • Provide clinical consultation, guidance, training, and technical assistance to clinical staff.
  • Conduct clinical case reviews and provide recommendations regarding complex cases.
  • Develop and implement clinical best practices, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor client progress and overall clinical service delivery.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, training, and professional development to clinical team members.
  • Support clinicians in developing strong clinical judgment, documentation, and treatment-planning skills.
  • Hold staff accountable for established performance and productivity expectations.
  • Monitor completion and timeliness of clinical documentation.
  • Ensure clinical services and documentation remain compliant with Medicaid requirements and other applicable regulatory and funding standards.
  • Assist with determining appropriate caseloads, staffing coverage, and service schedules.
  • Develop and implement new clinical services and programming when appropriate.
  • Ensure programs and services meet payer requirements.
  • Participate in utilization review and utilization management activities.
  • Coordinate and conduct clinical chart audits.
  • Evaluate clinical services and identify opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Develop and implement initiatives designed to improve treatment quality and client outcomes.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership regarding clinical policy, procedures, and best practices.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and liaison to internal departments and external community providers.
  • Maintain positive and professional working relationships with coworkers, clients, leadership, and outside agencies.
  • Perform additional clinical and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Active and valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential.
  • Previous professional experience working in a clinical behavioral health environment.
  • At least two years of experience working in dual-diagnosis treatment and/or substance use disorder treatment.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health clinical practices and treatment standards.
  • Ability to effectively supervise, coach, mentor, train, and develop clinical professionals.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage individuals and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate behavioral health services.
  • Strong understanding of clinical documentation, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, team-based treatment environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in a comparable clinical leadership, supervision, quality-improvement, managed-care, provider-group, governmental, or behavioral health setting.
  • Previous experience supervising clinicians working toward independent licensure.
  • Experience with utilization review, clinical chart audits, and quality-improvement initiatives.
  • Experience developing and implementing clinical policies, procedures, and treatment standards.

Substance Use Disorder Credential Requirements

Candidates should possess one of the following:

  • CADC II or CADC III, or
  • CADC I with the ability and willingness to obtain a CADC III within two years of hire.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid Oregon driver's license.
  • Must be insurable for client-service and work-related travel purposes.
  • Ability to travel between business locations and attend required meetings and trainings.
  • Must successfully complete all required criminal background checks.
  • Must successfully complete required drug screening.
  • Reliable and consistent attendance is required.
