Department Overview
The Clinical Support Assistant position within Community Hematology Oncology (CHO) provides a variety of administrative, clinical support, and technical assistance to the Med Onc and infusion teams, including Medical Assistants, schedulers, and providers. This role performs assigned duties involving a variety of related and unrelated processes, methods, and tasks as directed by clinic leadership.
The position may include direct patient interaction and work closely with clinic leadership to support daily operations and ensure efficient clinic and infusion workflow. The Clinical Support Assistant provides assistance with administrative and clinical support tasks, contributing to the overall functioning of the clinic while maintaining a professional and confidential environment.
This role requires the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously, maintain strong organizational skills, and demonstrate effective problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to remain calm and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
The Clinical Support Assistant supports the functions of roles including, but not limited to, Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, and Patient Access Service Resource Specialist within the hematology and medical oncology clinics and infusion units.
