What you will do at AMC:
The Clinical Team Assistant (CTA) provides vital support to the nursing and care teams by assisting with non-clinical patient care coordination, documentation, communication, and workflow processes. Reporting to the Lead Nurse, the CTA plays a key role in ensuring efficient clinical operations and timely patient follow-up. This position supports smooth functioning of day-to-day activities and contributes to a high-quality, patient-centered experience.
Assist with coordination and documentation of patient services including referrals, prior authorizations, and communication with external partners (e.g., specialists, pharmacies, labs).
Manage refill requests including updating the pharmacy and provider information, ensuring appropriate routing and documentation.
Assist with care gap reporting and follow-up (e.g., overdue labs, immunizations, mammograms), supporting panel management and quality initiatives.
Communicate directly with patients as needed for scheduling, follow-up on test results, or health education materials, per clinical protocols.
Support scanning, faxing, and uploading of medical records and documentation into the electronic health record.
Help coordinate case management tasks under the guidance of the Lead Nurse, including patient outreach and support with Durable Medical Equipment (DME), IHSS coordination, Radiology Prior Authorizations or community services.
Support panel reassignment processes and patient communication related to provider transitions.
Monitor documentation workflows and follow up with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Participate in clinic meetings and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives as assigned.
Demonstrate a commitment to excellent communication, organization, and collaboration within the care team.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
The Clinical Team Assistant at Alliance Medical Center has the following qualifications and skills:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or post-secondary education preferred;
At least one year of experience in a healthcare or clinic setting, required;
Bilingual in English and Spanish required;
Completion of medical assistant program with certification required;
Current CPR certification required;
Knowledge of medical office systems and terminology, including electronic health records;
Strong organizational and communication skills;
Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively as part of a care team in a fast-paced environment;
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel);
Demonstrates cultural humility and professionalism in interactions with diverse populations;
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
Work location: This position is expected to work onsite and not remotely.
