Job Description

The Clinical Territory Manager leads direct-to-consumer sales and clinical program development within a multi-state territory, combining strong clinical expertise in physical or occupational therapy with a strategic business development mindset. This role focuses on managing the product acquisition process from lead generation through referral development and clinical education, while building trusted relationships with physicians, clinicians, and community partners. The Clinical Territory Manager develops and executes annual business plans, drives key performance metrics, and represents the organization at regional and national events, all while upholding the highest standards of compliance and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute quarterly and annual key performance metrics for the assigned territory, ensuring consistent progress toward business goals.
• Manage the direct-to-consumer sales process by overseeing the full product acquisition lifecycle, including lead engagement, nurturing, referral development, and clinical education.
• Conduct in-services and educational meetings by delivering company-developed presentations to groups of physicians, clinicians, and community support organizations.
• Develop and execute comprehensive annual business plans within the assigned geography and review quarterly key performance metrics with leadership to set and refine execution goals.
• Collaborate with Area Sales Managers to develop and implement successful clinical programs at healthcare facilities within the territory.
• Attend customer-facing and internal national and regional trade shows and events as requested, representing the organization in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
• Hold oneself and others accountable for conducting business in full compliance with the company's Code of Compliance and Ethics, policies, procedures, and applicable internal controls.
• Actively build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers, therapists, and clinical stakeholders across the territory.
• Engage in proactive business development activities, including cold walk-ins to new physicians and facilities, to expand market presence and create new opportunities.
• Clearly articulate and effectively communicate the company's value proposition to clinical and non-clinical audiences.
• Adapt quickly to a fast-changing environment, identifying challenges and collaborating with internal and external partners to develop solutions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support territory growth, customer satisfaction, and clinical program success.

Essential Skills

• Licensed physical therapist, occupational therapist, or professional with an advanced clinical background in neurology, ideally holding a Master's or Doctorate in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or a related neurological discipline.
• Experience working on the neurological side of physical therapy or occupational therapy, with a strong understanding of neuro-based rehabilitation and patient care.
• Active professional license in the relevant clinical field, with the ability to practice and engage credibly with clinicians and therapists.
• Results-focused and self-motivated mindset, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and drive outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective, lasting relationships with key decision makers, physicians, and therapists.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear presentations and clinical education.
• Ability to effectively communicate, problem solve, and adapt quickly in a fast-changing environment.
• Strong business development mindset, with comfort initiating contact and conducting cold walk-ins to new doctors and facilities.
• Ability to build trust, rapport, and relationships quickly and organically with diverse stakeholders.
• Capability to clearly articulate and sell the company's value proposition in a consultative and professional manner.
• High level of personal accountability and commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with organizational policies and codes of ethics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate degree in physical therapy, occupational therapy, neurology, or a closely related field is preferred.
• Experience specifically in neurological rehabilitation within PT or OT settings is highly valued.
• Candidates without the exact degree may be considered if they hold a valid license and demonstrate exceptional qualifications and performance history.
• Prior sales experience, particularly in healthcare or clinical environments, is preferred (for example, selling concierge physical therapy services or similar offerings).
• Warm, personable, and highly likable demeanor, with an intelligent, caring, and approachable style.
• Natural ability to build trust and rapport with clinicians, patients, and community partners.
• Strong drive and initiative, with a balanced focus on both clinical quality and sales performance.
• Comfort presenting to groups, including physicians, clinicians, and community organizations, using structured company-developed materials.
• Organizational skills to manage a large geographic territory, complex travel schedules, and multiple concurrent initiatives.

Work Environment

This role is field-based with a large, primarily non-metropolitan territory centered around Kansas City and extending roughly a 2-4 hour radius in multiple directions. The territory includes areas such as Omaha, Iowa City, Des Moines, Springfield (Illinois and Missouri), and St. Louis. The position requires significant driving as part of a large loop coverage model, with most travel conducted by car and occasional flights as needed. The typical travel schedule involves being on the road approximately three out of four weeks each month, often leaving on Monday and returning Wednesday or Thursday. An example cadence may include two days in Nebraska, two days in Iowa, two days in Kansas, one week based at home, and two days in St. Louis. Travel is purposeful and meeting-focused, generally involving around two days of customer meetings per week, sometimes requiring only a single overnight stay. Work involves regular visits to physician offices, clinics, and healthcare facilities, conducting in-person meetings, educational sessions, and in-services. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring comfort with frequent travel, varied daily schedules, and ongoing interaction with clinicians and healthcare teams in professional clinical settings.
