MHM Solutions, a Centurion Health company, is proud to be the provider of healthcare staffing solutions to state agencies within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We are currently seeking a part time Clinical Therapist to join our team at the Norristown State Hospital located in Norristown , Pennsylvania.
Shift: Part- Time; 20 hours a week, between the hours of 8am-4pm.
Primary duties for Clinical Therapist-Arson Behavior Specialist, include:
Provide services within NSH's forensic inpatient setting, accepting patients by referral from the multidisciplinary treatment team based on identified fire-setting or arson-related risk.
Conduct comprehensive fire-setting and arson-specific risk assessments using validated, evidence-based instruments and structured professional judgment.
Deliver evidence-based individual and group treatment interventions targeting fire-setting behaviors, underlying psychological drivers, and associated risk factors.
Develop individualized treatment plans, including relapse prevention strategies and behavioral risk management recommendations, in coordination with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
Document clinical findings, treatment progress, and risk status in accordance with NSH documentation standards and timelines (Netsmart / electronic health record).
Administer psychological and behavioral assessments within scope of practice and licensure.
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, clinical supervision, and case consultation.
Provide consultation and education to hospital staff regarding fire-setting behaviors, risk indicators, behavioral management strategies, and environmental safety considerations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Clinical knowledge of fire-setting psychology, pyromania, and impulse-control disorders.
Understanding of criminogenic needs and behavioral analysis as applied to fire-setting and arson behaviors.
Competency in relapse prevention planning and community reintegration risk management.
Working knowledge of forensic risk management principles within a state hospital / correctional-adjacent treatment setting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for clinical documentation, staff consultation, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Master's degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Forensic Psychology, Behavioral Health, Criminal Justice (with a behavioral/clinical emphasis), or a related clinical discipline.
Current Pennsylvania clinical licensure (e.g., LPC, LCSW, Licensed Psychologist) or documented license eligibility.
Documented training and/or certification in fire-setting behavior assessment, arson risk evaluation, forensic behavioral intervention, or a related specialty area.
Prior clinical experience within a forensic behavioral health setting strongly preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain all NSH/DHS clearances, credentialing, and facility access requirements applicable to contracted clinical staff.
