The Clinical Therapist plans and coordinates medically approved treatment plans and therapeutic interventions for patients seeking inpatient substance use disorder treatment. This role addresses co-occurring disorders, leverages clinical programming, and involves family systems to help patients develop the tools necessary for long-term recovery using evidence-based and person-centered practices.
Assessment: Evaluate patients' mental and physical health, addiction, or problem behaviors to assess treatment readiness.
Treatment Planning: Develop comprehensive treatment goals and plans, including education on medically assisted treatment (MAT) and collaboration with medical/psychiatric teams.
Clinical Intervention: Help patients identify behaviors that interfere with recovery and teach skills to modify those behaviors.
Family Support: Educate families on addiction and behavioral disorders, helping them develop effective coping strategies.
Coordination of Care: Partner with navigators on aftercare planning and refer patients to external resources such as job placement or support groups.
Community Outreach: Conduct programs to help identify signs of addiction and preventive measures.
Licensure: Must hold a valid State of Maryland license or credential for Drug and Alcohol Counseling. Eligible types include:
LCPC, LCADC, LCSW-C (Preferred)
LMSW, LCSW, LGADC, LGPC
CAC-AD, CSC-AD
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in behavioral healthcare or substance abuse settings, preferably in a residential environment.
Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of case management for dual-diagnosis patients and medically assisted treatment options.
Skills: Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational skills, and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Schedule: Monday – Friday (Shifts: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
