The clinical veterinarian functions as an integral member of the KU-Lawrence Animal Care Unit (ACU) leadership team. The incumbent provides preventative, clinical, and surgical care to a variety of laboratory animal species. The incumbent works closely and interacts with the ACU director, ACU associate director/facility manager, ACU associate director/facility supervisor, and IACUC to ensure efficient operation of the KU-Lawrence Animal Care and Use Program in accordance with the applicable regulations and standards. The position offers opportunities to participate in departmental and collaborative research programs as well as to develop independent scholarly activities related to laboratory animal medicine and comparative medicine. The incumbent will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Lawrence and Medical Center campuses to support integrated animal care and use programs.
