Job Title: Closing Back of House (BOH) Leadership
Location: Chick-fil-A University Place/Charlotte, NC
Reports To: Operations Lead / General Manager / Operator
Position Overview:
The Back of House (BOH) Leadership role at Chick-fil-A is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations to ensure food safety, quality, and speed of service. This position plays a key role in leading, developing, and motivating the kitchen team to deliver exceptional food and uphold Chick-fil-A’s high standards of excellence.
BOH Leaders are expected to maintain a positive work environment, demonstrate servant leadership, and help build a culture of care, teamwork, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Excellence
- Lead kitchen operations during shifts, ensuring accurate order fulfillment and consistent food quality.
- Maintain food safety and cleanliness in accordance with Chick-fil-A standards and local health regulations.
- Monitor kitchen productivity, food waste, and product availability.
- Ensure proper execution of prep, cooking, and holding procedures.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and communicate repair needs promptly.
2. Leadership & Team Development
- Model Chick-fil-A’s Core 4 and “REMARKable” service principles in all interactions.
- Coach and develop Team Members through daily feedback and ongoing training.
- Support onboarding and training of new kitchen staff.
- Foster a positive, teamwork-driven kitchen culture built on respect, excellence, and growth.
- Communicate shift goals and expectations clearly.
3. Quality & Food Safety
- Enforce Chick-fil-A food safety policies.
- Conduct routine quality checks on ingredients and finished products.
- Ensure accurate portioning, cooking times, and product presentation.
4. Administrative & Strategic Support
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency and quality.
- Support compliance with labor and cost control guidelines.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of Chick-fil-A or restaurant leadership experience required.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and team leadership.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Servant-hearted attitude with a passion for developing others.
- Night time closing schedule. 2pm-11pm availability every day of the week. (except Sundays!)
- Must be 18 years or older.
