Job Title: Cloud Architect Contractor GCP Security & Compliance
Location: Jersey City, NJ (W2 Only)

Role Description
As a Cloud Architect Contractor, you will support the Client project team by designing and implementing cloud solutions that align with business and technical requirements. You will develop cloud architecture strategies and plans, design and implement cloud infrastructure, evaluate cloud technologies and tools, provide technical guidance to development teams, and ensure compliance with best practices and standards for cloud security, performance, and cost optimization.
This role focuses on embedding security and compliance guardrails into the GCP rollout to ensure onboarding is secure-by-default and audit-ready.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop cloud architecture strategies and plans aligned with business goals and technical requirements.
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure, including network design, security configurations, and cloud services.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate cloud technologies and tools to meet project needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to development teams during the implementation of cloud solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with best practices and standards for cloud security, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Translate control requirements into technical guardrails, including organizational policies and baseline controls.
  • Define encryption and key management patterns and establish secrets handling expectations.
  • Set logging and monitoring requirements and evidence retention standards.
  • Drive exception handling, risk acceptance workflow inputs, and remediation tracking activities.
  • Support secure and compliant onboarding processes within the GCP environment.

Required Skills & Experience
  • GCP Python Advanced Level (6 9 years of experience)
  • 5+ years of experience with:
    • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
    • Python
    • Terraform
    • Security
Mandatory Skills
  • Cloud security fundamentals
  • Control mapping and evidence discipline
  • GCP guardrails concepts, including policy constraints, IAM hardening, and logging requirements
  • Ability to create and implement practical, actionable standards rather than documentation-only solutions
