Cloud Architect

POSITION SUMMARY

Solero Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to provide technical leadership in the design, implementation, modernization, security, and optimization of enterprise cloud environments supporting a large and complex public-sector organization.

The Cloud Architect will be responsible for developing scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective cloud architectures while ensuring alignment with enterprise technology standards, cybersecurity requirements, business objectives, and industry best practices.

The successful candidate will work with enterprise architects, cloud engineers, cybersecurity professionals, network engineers, database administrators, application developers, DevOps engineers, project managers, vendors, and business stakeholders to support cloud migrations, application modernization, infrastructure transformation, disaster recovery, and enterprise digital-transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS), enterprise cloud architecture, networking, identity and access management, cloud security, automation, disaster recovery, and hybrid-cloud environments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Cloud Architect will:

• Design and maintain enterprise cloud architecture and cloud technology roadmaps.
• Develop secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient cloud solutions.
• Evaluate existing applications, infrastructure, databases, and workloads for cloud migration and modernization.
• Develop cloud migration and modernization strategies.
• Design cloud landing zones and enterprise cloud environments.
• Develop reference architectures, architectural standards, patterns, and technical documentation.
• Design hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud solutions when appropriate.
• Architect Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and serverless solutions.
• Develop strategies for migrating legacy applications and infrastructure to modern cloud platforms.
• Design cloud-based networking, compute, storage, databases, integration, security, and identity solutions.
• Establish cloud architecture standards and guardrails.
• Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, availability, security, and business-continuity requirements.
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide recommendations for proposed technology solutions.
• Identify architectural risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to incorporate security throughout the cloud architecture.
• Support cloud implementation, deployment, testing, and operational transition activities.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to cloud engineers, developers, DevOps teams, and project personnel.
