Cloud Data Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Data Engineer with strong expertise in Google BigQuery and dbt.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud data warehousing, advanced analytics environments, and data platform architecture. This role will support the migration and modernization of data warehousing infrastructure and Spark/analytics environments.

The candidate should possess a broad technical skill set along with strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills to collaborate effectively with senior engineering teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and gather comprehensive requirements for cloud data warehousing and analytics platforms.
• Design and develop scalable data architecture and solutions using Google BigQuery.
• Support the migration and modernization of existing data warehousing infrastructure.
• Design and implement data transformation workflows using dbt.
• Work on advanced analytics and Apache Spark environments.
• Optimize BigQuery storage management and performance.
• Optimize and manage BI Engine for analytics and reporting workloads.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries.
• Perform BigQuery system administration and platform management.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define technical architecture and design standards.
• Work closely with stakeholders to communicate technical requirements, solutions, and recommendations.
• Support data platform strategy, architecture, and implementation initiatives.
• Ensure scalable, reliable, and high-performing data solutions.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on expertise in Google BigQuery.
• Strong experience with dbt (Data Build Tool).
• Experience with cloud data warehousing and data platform architecture.
• Strong experience with complex SQL querying and query optimization.
• Experience with BigQuery storage management.
• Experience optimizing BI Engine.
• Experience with BigQuery administration and system management.
• Experience working with advanced analytics and Apache Spark environments.
• Strong understanding of data warehouse migration and modernization.
• Experience in defining technical requirements, architecture, and solution designs.
