Cloud Database Analyst (Remote)

We’re looking for a Cloud Database Analyst for a remote role.

Work Authorization: U.S. citizens and Green Card holders only. Sponsorship is not available for this role; no C2C or third-party candidates. Candidates must be able to work on our W2.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 8 years of IT experience, including varied database administration experience
• Cloud data migration and CI/CD experience
• Agile experience with familiarity in Jira and Confluence
• Expertise in backup/recovery, data replication, failover, and cross-region availability
• Hands-on experience managing and optimizing cloud-hosted relational databases
• Strong SQL performance tuning and proficiency in writing complex SQL queries
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or CloudFormation
• Knowledge of Security and Compliance Frameworks (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP)
• Understanding of data security, encryption, and compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, FedRAMP, etc.)
• Familiarity with database monitoring and management tools like CloudWatch, Enhanced Monitoring, Performance Insights (AWS), Azure Monitor
• Experience with data warehousing or analytics integration (Redshift, QuickSight, Glue) is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead database migration and deployment of lift-and-shift projects to cloud platforms
• Design and implement high-availability (HA), backup/restore, snapshots, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies for cloud-based databases
• Enforce cloud security and compliance standards (IAM, VPC policies, data classification)
• Manage and optimize cloud-hosted databases such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL
• Write and tune SQL queries and use monitoring tools to track performance and availability
• Automate routine tasks using scripting languages like Python or PowerShell

Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree; OR
• 4 years of job-related work experience; OR
• 2 years of job-related experience plus an Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job- related degree
• Cloud Certifications are nice to have

The hourly rate for this position is $61.86
