About the Role

Our client, a federal systems integrator supporting mission-critical government programs, is seeking an experienced Cloud Database Administrator to help operate and support their AWS-hosted data environments. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining database reliability, supporting data workflows, and driving the performance and availability of AWS-based systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on database professional who wants to deepen their cloud data engineering expertise while contributing to a high-impact mission environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and oversee backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations to safeguard data integrity and ensure business continuity.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and administrative tooling using Bash, Python, Perl, or comparable scripting languages.
• Administer and support relational database platforms including Db2, Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Monitor database and system health, lead performance tuning efforts, and proactively identify optimization opportunities.
• Operate within Linux and UNIX environments to support day-to-day database and data platform activities.
• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot ETL workflows and data pipelines that feed downstream analytics and applications.
• Contribute to data modeling initiatives and maintain clean, well-structured schemas across environments.
• Partner with infrastructure, DevOps, and application development teams to support cloud-based deployments and releases.
• Implement and uphold database security best practices, including access controls, auditing, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Document operational procedures, configurations, and runbooks to promote knowledge sharing and team continuity.
• Apply foundational knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts, with an emphasis on AWS-native services and architecture.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Cloud DBA or AWS DBA, with hands-on Db2 administration experience.
• Active Secret clearance (or higher) is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required to support this government contract.
