Job Title: Cloud DevOps Engineer (AWS & Databricks)
Location: Tysons Corner, VA (Hybrid / Remote)
Duration: Fulltime

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud DevOps Engineer to support the deployment, automation, security, and operational management of enterprise cloud and data platform environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), building CI/CD pipelines, automating cloud deployments, supporting Databricks platform operations, and enhancing platform reliability across AWS environments.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, GitHub Actions, CI/CD automation, and modern cloud-native technologies, with a strong focus on operational excellence, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure Automation
  • Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
  • Provision and manage AWS cloud resources including networking, compute, storage, and security services.
  • Automate infrastructure deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management.
  • Support multi-environment deployments across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
CI/CD & Release Automation
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and related DevOps tools.
  • Automate application, infrastructure, and Databricks deployments.
  • Implement deployment strategies including blue-green, canary, and rolling deployments.
  • Support source code management, branching strategies, and release management processes.
Databricks Platform Enablement
  • Support deployment and promotion of Databricks assets across environments.
  • Implement and maintain Databricks Asset Bundles and deployment automation.
  • Assist with workspace provisioning, cluster configuration, and platform integrations.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Platform Administrators to support operational needs.
Platform Operations & Reliability
  • Monitor cloud and platform health, availability, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot deployment failures, infrastructure issues, and platform incidents.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Support operational readiness, disaster recovery, and resiliency initiatives.
Security & Compliance
  • Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support vulnerability remediation and compliance requirements.
  • Implement secrets management and credential rotation processes.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure adherence to security standards and policies.
Monitoring & Observability
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions.
  • Develop dashboards and operational reporting.
  • Monitor platform utilization and performance metrics.
  • Support capacity planning and optimization activities.
Collaboration & Support
  • Partner with Cloud Architects, Data Engineers, Security Teams, and Platform Administrators.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and technical planning sessions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance for deployment automation and cloud operations.
  • Document procedures, standards, and operational runbooks.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
  • 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, Git, and source control management.
  • Experience supporting cloud-native applications and distributed systems.
  • Strong scripting experience using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience troubleshooting production environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Databricks environments.
  • Experience deploying and managing Databricks Asset Bundles.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience supporting federal or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, or NIST security frameworks.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
