About the Employer
The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County's most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment. Job Summary
The IT Division of the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) is looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer. The role is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining the organization s cloud, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructure to support reliable, scalable, and cost-effective technology services. Working collaboratively with Information Technology, cybersecurity, applications, and business teams, this position leads cloud infrastructure initiatives, automates system deployments, supports cloud migrations, and ensures the security, performance, and availability of enterprise systems. The Cloud Engineer also oversees backup and disaster recovery solutions, manages cloud and infrastructure services, enforces governance and compliance standards, and provides technical expertise to support the organization s evolving technology needs and strategic goals.

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, or a related field. • Two (2) years of extensive recent experience supporting and administering cloud, hybrid, and enterprise infrastructure environments, including server systems,operating systems, storage platforms, cloud services, backup and recovery solutions, identity services, and related infrastructure technologies; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
