Cloud Engineer - Onsite

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Cloud Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with a Major Financial Institution. This position is fully onsite in Milwaukee, WI.

Compensation: $180,000 - $209,000 per year, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:
This role combines operational support and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant services and systems. The ideal candidate will ensure that Cloud services are secure, available, and scalable by monitoring system capacity and performance, and looking for opportunities to automate tasks. You will be responsible for testing, integrating, and establishing key infrastructure for the Cloud while maintaining services by measuring and monitoring availability and overall health of the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, architect, and deploy cloud-native applications
• Collaborate with the development team and other technical experts to create enterprise solutions in accordance with technical and commercial requirements
• Actively contribute to the adoption of strong cloud architecture, development, and engineering best practices
• Review the existing system regularly and make modifications aligned to requirements
• Identify and fix issues that occur during application deployment
• Document the strategies and practices necessary for the deployment and maintenance of applications and/or infrastructure
• Consult development teams to improve their knowledge and expertise of cloud
• Operate at a group/enterprise-wide level and serve as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders
• Apply expertise and think creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to complex problems

Primary Requirements:

• Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge
• Advanced proficiency in Cloud Security, DevOps, Cloud sizing, Cloud Levers, and a Cloud First mindset
• Advanced proficiency in technical writing/documentation, cloud computing, Cloud Networking, programming, and scripting languages
• Advanced proficiency in Industry and Enterprise cloud strategy, Enterprise Cloud Governance, Cloud measured services, and Cloud attribution
• Advanced proficiency with Basic Cloud Concepts (e.g. Services, Patterns)
• Intermediate proficiency in Cloudability, Cloud financial reporting, and Cloud Economics Frameworks
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Collaboration & team skills with a focus on cross-group collaboration
• Ability to manage ambiguity and practice data-driven decision making
