Job Summary

The Cloud Enterprise Lead is responsible for designing, governing, and supporting enterprise cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions that are secure, scalable, and highly available. This role defines architectural standards across public cloud (Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) and on premises environments, ensuring seamless integration across application, compute, network, storage, and platform services. It will also work with our operations and implementation partners to ensure proper execution of designs.

The Cloud Enterprise Lead serves as a senior technical leader, providing expert level guidance for complex cloud initiatives and mission critical systems. This role partners closely with IS Directors and leadership to establish cloud strategy, architectural standards, and financial and operational models, and supports department planning and investment decisions.

Essential Functions of the Role

  • Designs and maintains enterprise cloud and hybrid architectures, with primary focus on Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Defines cloud architecture standards, reference designs, and guardrails for compute, networking, storage, identity, security, and platform services.
  • Leads performance analysis, capacity planning, availability, and resiliency assessments across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Develops and maintains a cloud portfolio roadmap aligned with clinical, operational, financial and IT objectives.
  • Partners with Information Security teams to implement cloud security best practices, identity and access models, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluates emerging cloud services, native platform capabilities, and vendor solutions to support modernization and optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure appropriate financial operations and cost controls, and monitor effectiveness of FinOps programs.
  • Collaborates with network, storage, database, application, and business teams to deliver integrated cloud solutions aligned with organizational needs.
  • Develops and maintains architectural diagrams, cloud landing zone designs, and operational standards.
  • Promotes consistency and operational efficiency across the Enterprise Platforms organization, including concept definition, strategy, design, deployment, and lifecycle management.
  • Leads the design and deployment of large‑scale systems including disaster recovery, high availability, data protection, and cross‑region architectures.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert across cloud infrastructure domains, including automation, infrastructure‑as‑code, cost optimization, performance tuning, and resiliency.
  • Provides technical leadership for cloud initiatives, communicates risks and tradeoffs, and coordinates with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Maintains cloud performance metrics, cost models, growth projections, and operational reporting.
  • Leads technical aspects of infrastructure projects, communicates progress and risks, and coordinates with stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Seven or more years of professional IT experience, with strong emphasis on cloud or infrastructure architecture.

  • Hands‑on experience designing and operating solutions in Microsoft Azure.

  • Working knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including compute, networking, and storage services.

Strong understanding of hybrid connectivity, enterprise networking fundamentals, and identity platforms.

  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware) and their integration with cloud services.
  • Experience with automation and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (e.g., ARM/Bicep, Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, or similar).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.
