Job Summary (Cloud FinOps Analyst)

- Serve as a hands-on, operational financial steward for a multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) environment, focusing on real-time cost monitoring and optimization.
- Act as first responder to cloud cost anomalies and operational issues during core business hours, ensuring financial accountability and rapid mitigation.
- Lead the design, implementation, and enforcement of strict cloud resource tagging and naming conventions for accurate cost allocation.
- Monitor daily cloud usage to identify cost-saving and resource right-sizing opportunities, eliminating waste across cloud services.
- Investigate and resolve sudden cloud cost spikes, collaborating with Development and Cloud Solutions teams to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Manage enterprise showback/chargeback models, translating complex billing data into actionable insights for finance and leadership.
- Enhance multi-cloud governance frameworks to ensure engineering teams comply with organizational financial standards.
- Apply deep technical knowledge of AWS and Azure architectures, engaging effectively with DevOps and engineering teams.
- Utilize FinOps tooling (Apptio, CloudAbility) to manage cloud costs in a large enterprise environment.
- Implement and maintain automated tagging policies and compliance remediation processes.
- Analyze complex cloud pricing models (Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, Spot Instances) and synthesize billing data into strategic recommendations.
- Maintain high availability and excellent communication, demonstrating urgency and responsiveness during business hours.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner and/or AWS/Azure technical certifications are preferred but not required.
