Cloud Infrastructure Automation Engineer

We are looking for a hands-on infrastructure automation engineer who can translate business and infrastructure requests into technical solutions and build the automation to deliver them. The ideal candidate will have strong Ansible and Terraform experience, hands-on development skills, and experience automating infrastructure across on-premises and public cloud environments.

Project Details

• Ongoing infrastructure automation and cloud engineering initiatives
• Build and maintain automation that can provision, configure, and manage infrastructure across multiple endpoints
• Automate workflows across VMware, Windows, Linux, and public cloud environments
• Support messaging and event-driven infrastructure across on-premises and cloud platforms
• Work in an Agile environment and collaborate with infrastructure, application, and business teams

Must-Haves / Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible, including developing and maintaining automation/playbooks

• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation and provisioning

• Hands-on development/coding experience; able to build and troubleshoot automation rather than simply execute existing scripts

• Experience translating business or infrastructure requirements into technical automation solutions

• Experience automating across on-premises infrastructure and public cloud environments

• Experience with MQ (Message Queue) at a basic to mid-level

• Experience with IBM MQ in both on-premises and cloud environments

• Experience with AWS, particularly Amazon MSK

• Experience with Azure Event Hubs

• Experience automating against multiple infrastructure endpoints, such as:

• VMware

• Windows

• Linux

• AWS / Azure

• Experience working in an Agile development environment

What They'll Do

• Build infrastructure automation using Ansible and Terraform
• Develop automation that can interact with VMware, Windows, Linux, AWS, Azure, and other infrastructure endpoints
• Translate requests from business and infrastructure teams into practical technical solutions
• Automate provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operational tasks
• Support and automate MQ environments, including on-premises IBM MQ and cloud-based messaging technologies
• Work with AWS MSK and Azure Event Hubs as part of cloud messaging/event-driven solutions
• Develop and troubleshoot automation code and scripts
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, application, and business teams in an Agile environment
• Identify manual infrastructure processes that can be automated and develop solutions to improve efficiency and consistency

Nice-to-Haves

• Deeper IBM MQ administration or engineering experience
• Experience with additional AWS/Azure infrastructure services
• Python or other scripting/programming experience
• Experience integrating automation with APIs and infrastructure management platforms
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated infrastructure deployment
• Financial services or other large enterprise experience
