Position Summary

We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, operate, and maintain enterprise cloud and hybrid cloud environments. The role supports GCP, Azure Local, VMware, Linux, and Windows infrastructureand helps shape the architecture and operating processes behind dependable cloud services.

You will troubleshoot infrastructure issues, coordinate escalations across technical teams, strengthen cloud security procedures, implement monitoring and systems management tools, report service metrics, and analyze outages to prevent repeat incidents. This position participates in an on-call rotation that supports a 24x7x365 operation.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, operate, and maintain cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructure across supported platforms.

Assist with architecture for GCP, Azure Local, VMware, and other hybrid cloud solutions.

Define and improve IT and business processes that support cloud deployments and ongoing operations.

Administer and engineer Linux and Windows Server environments, including RHEL 9 and Remote Desktop Services.

Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive escalation and resolution with infrastructure, network, security, and application teams.

Contribute to cloud security policies and operating procedures, including firewall, NAT, packet-filtering, and IPtables controls.

Implement systems management and monitoring tools that provide visibility and control across cloud infrastructure.

Define and report key performance indicators, process-health measures, and customer-facing service metrics.

Conduct system outage analysis, document root causes, and implement actions that reduce recurrence.

Support load-balancing and high-availability solutions and participate in the on-call escalation rotation.

Required Qualifications

Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms, particularly Azure Local and VMware vCenter, vCloud Director, and vSphere 7 or 8.

Linux and Windows system administration and engineering experience, including RHEL 9 and Windows Server.

Experience supporting Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.

Scripting ability in Bash, Python, Ruby, PHP, or a comparable language.

Working knowledge of firewalls, NAT, packet filtering, and IPtables.

Experience with application load balancing and high-availability solutions.

Foundational knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching, TCP/IP, SNMP, and related networking technologies.

Ability to troubleshoot across multiple infrastructure layers and coordinate escalations with other technical teams.

Ability and flexibility to join an on-call rotation supporting a 24x7x365 operation.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with GCP architecture, operations, or engineering.

Experience designing Azure Local or other hybrid cloud solutions.

Experience defining infrastructure KPIs and customer-facing service metrics.

Experience conducting root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions after outages.

Current GCP certification.
