The Digital Sector at Leidos has a career opening for an Associate Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps Engineer located in the Scott AFB, IL area. This candidate will support the sustainment and ongoing development of the DISA Global Management System (GMS), providing support for GMS Cloud Network and Infrastructure services under general supervision. This role is ideal for a professional with a few years of experience looking to deepen their skills in cloud networking, infrastructure automation, and defense-sector DevOps practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the development, testing, and deployment of prototypes and solutions within Government Cloud Solutions leveraging Infrastructure platform services.
Configure, troubleshoot, and resolve network connectivity issues for LAN, WAN, VPN, DNS, and Firewalls under general guidance.
Assist in monitoring and managing scalability parameters in the cloud network infrastructure.
Perform routine maintenance, update devices to maintain current patch levels, and manage regular configuration backups and archiving.
Partner with senior architects and engineers to help implement and maintain Cloud Network solutions for AWS.
Coordinate with software developers to facilitate and support smooth migrations of applications to the Cloud.
Actively utilize Atlassian tools (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence) to track progress, control source code, and author technical documentation.
Communicate key project data to team members and contribute actively to Agile team ceremonies and sprint goals.
Generate and maintain clear, structured documentation and visual diagrams of network and system layouts.
Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to network and cloud infrastructure to maintain DoD compliance.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have an active Secret Clearance and be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 2–4 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and hands-on technical experience).
Must have an active CompTIA Security+ Certification (DoD 8570 compliance).
1–2 years of practical experience with cloud services (AWS preferred), including basic configuration of services like Route53, VPCs, and VPNs.
Solid hands-on understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, routing, IPSec tunnels, subnetting, and network segmentation.
Proven ability to troubleshoot standard network issues in a structured enterprise environment.
Familiarity or prior experience working with security tools such as Palo Alto Firewalls, Tenable ACAS, or Trellix ESS.
Basic scripting and automation skills (e.g., exposure to Python, bash, or introductory knowledge of Terraform and Jenkins).
