Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Cloud Operations Engineer position! This is a 12+ months with potential extension and/or conversion to FTE contract opportunity and will be hybrid 3 days on site in Charlotte, NC.
What You'll Be Doing:
Drive security and monitoring enhancement initiatives to strengthen cloud infrastructure protection and operational visibility
Partner with Development and QA teams to diagnose and resolve deployment failures, ensuring smooth release processes across all environments
Improve environment stability by building comprehensive monitoring solutions that enable teams to proactively identify and address issues before they impact operations
Maintain and monitor cloud infrastructure performance, ensuring high availability and optimal resource utilization
Build and support data and application pipelines within cloud ecosystems to enable seamless data flow and application delivery
Troubleshoot system alerts, Windows events, and operational issues to maintain service reliability
Collaborate with security teams to implement and enforce cloud best practices across the organization
Communicate technical concepts effectively across different audiences, from engineers to leadership, explaining the what, why, and how of cloud operations
What You'll Need to Have:
4-5+ years of strong hands-on experience engineering and supporting cloud environments (AWS or Azure)
Solid general infrastructure experience including server fleet management, virtual environment administration, DNS, network routing, and firewall fundamentals
Strong PowerShell scripting knowledge with the ability to read, modify, and create automation scripts, including experience with CloudFormation, CDK, and SSM documents
Deep understanding of cloud architecture principles including resiliency, availability, scalability, and the strategic reasoning behind multi-datacenter deployments and environment separation (dev vs. production)
Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code practices and CI/CD deployment tools
Strong foundational knowledge of how applications communicate across networks and the internet, including serverless patterns and cloud security basics
A hunger to learn complex environments quickly and adapt to evolving cloud ecosystems
Demonstrated ability to communicate at various technical levels and collaborate effectively across different teams, with leadership potential or aspiration to grow into a team lead role
