Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer (Azure) to support a company focused on delivering scientifically driven organizational solutions through applied research and technology. This is a remote position with occasional on-site requirements in Chantilly, VA.. The Cloud Operations Engineer (Azure) will design, operate, and secure enterprise cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments while supporting mission‑critical systems and compliance initiatives. Responsibilities for the Cloud Operations Engineer (Azure) include:
- Designing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining secure Azure cloud infrastructure using native Microsoft services
- Implementing Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC), automation, and CI/CD pipelines to support cloud and application operations
- Administering and supporting Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Intune, and Entra ID
- Monitoring production systems, troubleshooting incidents, and performing patching, upgrades, and configuration changes
- Supporting security, compliance, and audit initiatives aligned with CMMC, NIST, and other regulatory frameworks
Required Qualifications for the Cloud Operations Engineer (Azure) include:
- 5-10+ years of experience in cloud operations, systems administration, or infrastructure engineering
- Experience with Microsoft Azure services (VMs, Virtual Networks, Storage, Azure Policy, Azure Monitor, Backup/DR, identity and security services) and Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep), PowerShell or scripting, and CI/CD pipelines
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
Compensation for the Cloud Operations Engineer (Azure) include:
- Salary Range: $100,000-$120,000 depending on experience
