Salary: This is a full-time, 12-month position at 232-days with a minimum annual salary of $82,572.
Summary: Support the secure administration, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of ESC Region 13 cloud platforms and related infrastructure. Provide technical expertise for AWS and Azure environments, cloud-based applications, secure configuration standards, identity and access practices, monitoring, and platform reliability.
This position supports the technical implementation of secure cloud operations for initiatives such as Pulse and other digital platforms. The role also contributes to software deployment practices, cloud documentation, observability, and technical controls that support organizational cybersecurity maturity and compliance readiness. In addition, the position may support district and project-based solutions that depend on cloud infrastructure, interoperability, and secure deployment patterns.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cloud Computing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of experience in systems administration, cloud administration, platform support, or infrastructure operations
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Experience supporting server, network, or application environments in an enterprise setting
- Experience with scripting, automation, or infrastructure support tools
- Ability to troubleshoot, document, and support technical systems in a production environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with both AWS and Azure environments
- Experience with logging, monitoring, alerting, identity and access management, backup, or disaster recovery concepts
- Experience administering Windows Server and Linux server environments.
- Experience supporting software deployment, CI/CD workflows, APIs, or platform integrations
- Experience with secure configuration practices and cloud-related security controls
- Experience supporting public sector, education, or district technology environments
- Certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Fundamentals, Security+, or similar
Knowledge/ Skills:
Cloud and Infrastructure Operations
- Knowledge of cloud administration, identity and access management, system monitoring, logging, and secure configuration standards
- Ability to support reliable operations across cloud-based systems and services
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing, and endpoint connectivity
Platform Reliability and Automation
- Skilled in troubleshooting performance issues, service interruptions, and configuration problems
- Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
- Familiarity with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar tools
Security and Compliance Support
- Understanding of security best practices for cloud operations, access control, patching, logging, and incident response support
- Ability to implement technical controls and documentation practices that contribute to broader cybersecurity and compliance goals
Collaboration and Communication
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with development, infrastructure, data, and support teams
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to support both internal teams and project based external initiatives
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent technical projects.
Major Responsibilities:
- Support secure administration and operation of AWS, Azure, and related cloud environments
- Maintain and improve monitoring, alerting, logging, identity controls, and access management practices for cloud systems
- Support cloud infrastructure and platform reliability for Pulse and other applications or services
- Implement and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and configuration standards for supported platforms
- Assist with cloud related evidence and control implementation that supports cybersecurity governance and compliance readiness
- Support software deployment and platform operations in coordination with developers, systems administrators, and the Information Security Officer
- Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and remediation of platform and service issues
- Assist with platform integrations, environment configuration, and interoperability across systems
- Support internal and project-based cloud solutions that may serve Region 13 programs or districts
- Contribute to standardization and continuous improvement of cloud operations and secure deployment practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No direct supervisory responsibilities
- May provide technical guidance and coordination to project teams, vendors, or temporary support personnel as assigned

Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities
- Indoor office environment with some remote work flexibility
- Physically able to lift and move PC systems, servers, or networking components up to 40 lbs
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required
- On-call for critical infrastructure and network emergencies
- Some travel within the region for district support or technical service coordination
