Cloud Solutions Architect The Opportunity At a certain point, experience-based system design can start to look like clairvoyance. When youve developed so many systems that you can not only orchestrate the best solution for any technology-based challenge but you can also anticipate and preempt future issues youre a solutions architect. Youve evolved your skills into strategy through a long path of software development accomplishments and the curiosity to understand how all of the pieces of an IT ecosystem fit together. As a cloud architect on our team, youll translate your customers IT needs and future goals into a plan by crafting architecture products. With your guidance, well help transform the way the U.S. Navy uses technology, including cloud migration, integrating advanced technology, and modernizing legacy systems. What Youll Work On

• Lead the design, development, and integration of ashore and afloat network and cloud-agnostic system architectures to meet operational objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, program managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless system performance.
• Conduct system assessments, troubleshoot issues, and recommend enhancements for optimal performance.
• Prepare technical documentation, diagrams, and reports for stakeholders.
• Lead the design of architectures for Windows Server-based enterprise IT systems and management tools.
• Collaborate with systems and network engineering teams to assess current-state environments and identify migration dependencies.
• Develop detailed workload migration plans, including timelines, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with technical and program managers to ensure alignment of architecture plans with broader project goals and timelines.
• Provide guidance and oversight during implementation phases to ensure architectural compliance.
• Scale delivery of modern systems engineering best practices, including digital engineering, automation, and orchestration across both systems and network solutions.

You Have

• 12 years of experience with enterprise systems engineering in a DoD environment, spanning multiple enclaves or security domains.
• Experience with Red Hat and Microsoft enterprise technologies, virtualization platforms, or hybrid cloud services.
• Experience with SAN HCI and backup or DR architectures.
• Experience supporting deployable or tactical IT environments and with DoD cybersecurity compliance, including RMF or STIGs.
• Knowledge of Voice, Video, and IP-based communications systems.
• Experience with Architecture design and implementation of secure AWS and Azure cloud environments.
• Experience developing and maintaining infrastructure using infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.
• Secret clearance.
• Bachelors degree in a computer science, Information Technology, or Engineering field.
• Ability to obtain a DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II Certification, such as CompTIA Security, CE, CCNA, Security GSEC, or SSCP Certification within 30 days of start date.

Nice If You Have

• Experience applying core systems engineering concepts, processes, practices, and procedures in technical assignments.
• Experience across enterprise-level platforms, encompassing servers, storage, networking, software, and application services, or equivalent depth within a single technical domain.
• Experience collaborating and coordinating with senior-level stakeholders and organizational leaders.
• Knowledge of RF and SATCOM communication networks.
• Ability to mentor junior team members, fostering their growth and technical excellence.
• Possession of excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced Cybersecurity Certification, such as CASP or CISSP Certification.
• Clearance.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individuals particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 annualized USD. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allens total compensation package for employees.

Work Model Our people-first culture prioritizes the benefits of flexibility and collaboration, whether that happens in person or remotely.
