Summary:
The Storage Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, engineering, and operating enterprise storage platforms across a hybrid environment spanning on-prem data centers and cloud environments. This role focuses on SAN, NAS, and hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) storage solutions including NetApp, Dell Isilon, Dell Unity, and HPE Alletra.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on storage engineer with deep expertise in storage protocols, connectivity models, and provisioning who can translate architectural designs into reliable, scalable, and high-performing storage solutions supporting enterprise workloads.

Skills and Competencies:
Strong expertise in enterprise storage platforms including NetApp, Dell Isilon (PowerScale), Unity, and HPE Alletra.
Deep understanding of storage networking concepts, including WWPN, zoning, masking, and SAN fabric design.
Strong knowledge of storage protocols and connectivity models:
Fibre Channel (FC)
iSCSI
Direct Attached Storage (DAS)
NVMe / NVMe-over-Fabrics
Experience with both block and file storage architecture.
Strong understanding of storage performance tuning, IOPS, throughput, latency, and capacity planning.
Experience with replication, snapshots, and disaster recovery strategies across storage platforms.
Familiarity with virtualization integrations (VMware) and storage-backed workloads.
Exposure to automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, or vendor tools) for storage management.
Ability to translate architecture into deployable storage solutions with high reliability.
Strong troubleshooting skills across multi-platform infrastructure environments.
Strong collaboration skills working with server, network, and application teams.
Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and pride in delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.
