Campus Recreation offers a wide variety of sport club and group exercise programs for the University community. Our office accepts applications on a rolling basis from individuals who are interested in serving as sport club coaches or group exercise program instructors to support our programming as vacancies occur.

Major Responsibilities

Sport Club coaches are hired for their expertise in coaching/training athletes in a particular sport. Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable about all aspects of the sport they coach and must provide instruction, guidance, and supervision for all club members.

Group Exercise instructors are expected to teach and provide supervision for their classes. Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable in their respective group exercise activity.

Instructor applicants for our Group Exercise program should include their proposed classes/areas of expertise in their application materials. Typical activities offered for which instructors are often needed include but are not limited to:

Spinning

Group Exercise programs

Yoga

Meditation

Cross Training

Functional and Supervisory Relationships

All sport club coaches and instructors report to the Associate Director for Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs and Outdoor Pursuits; all group exercise instructors report to the Assistant Director for Fitness.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications included:

  • Previous coaching and/or teaching experience
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification
  • Coaching/teaching certification from an applicable accredited agency/organization
  • Scheduling flexibility
