    Title:Club Director

    Reports to: Director of Youth & Staff Development

    Salary Range:$54,000-$60,000 DOE, exempt

    Hours: Monday–Friday, some evenings and weekends required

    Location: 244 E Myrtle Ave., Murray, UT 84107, onsite with some remote time possible


    Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake’s mission is to inspire and empower youth to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring adults.

     

    Job Summary:

    The Club Director manages overall daily operations of the Club in alignment with organizational goals and objectives, with the primary concern for a comprehensive, outcome-driven program and service delivery. As a Club Director, you will establish Club programs, activities, and services that prepare youth for success and create an outcome-driven Club experience that facilitates the achievement of youth development goals. This role will also create and maintain excellent rapport with schools and school district personnel/administration, community supporters, and local municipalities. This leader supervises and trains staff (direct and indirect reports), oversees three departments including a high revenue generating child care program, manages the facility, manages a budget, develops community partnerships, and manages volunteers.

     

    KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

    1. Leadership

    • Oversees the leadership development for three Program Directors and other key staff to help ensure a strong working team
    • Establish Club programs, activities, and services that prepare youth for success and create an outcome-driven Club experience that facilitates achievement of youth development goals
    • Ensure a healthy, safe environment, with well-maintained facilities, equipment and supplies
    • Creates and maintains excellent rapport with schools and school district personnel/administration and community supporters including the Midvale Road Home Shelter and local municipalities

    2.Oversite of programs and activities

    • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the Club's overall programs, services, and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests
    • Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance, and participation

    3. Resource Management

    • Oversee the regulations of the child care center including revenue goals and state licensing requirements
    • Manage Club financial resources, assisting in the development of annual budgets, and control expenditures against budget
    • Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the Club’s physical properties and equipment, including use of facilities by outside groups
    • Ensure compliance with organization policies
    • Recruit, manage, and provide career development opportunities for staff and volunteers. Conduct regular staff meetings.

    4.       Marketing and Public Relations

    • Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs, services, and activities within the Club and the community


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Knowledge:

    • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
    • A minimum of five years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience
    • Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
    • Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with youth and families, including addressing challenging and concerning behavior
    • Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management
    • Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents, and community leaders
    • Ability to make sense of complex information to effectively solve problems
    • Willingness to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm
    • Ability to relate openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people

    Other Requirements:

    • Must be at least 21 years old
    • Must be able to drive 15-passenger vehicles and have a good driving record
    • Must be CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
    • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
    • Must be able to pass Drug Screening
    • Be able to function for more than 2 hours on your feet
    • Be adaptable and flexible to change
    • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
