Customer Service Support
Perform opening and closing duties for the LaHaye Ice Center.
Greet and assist guests visiting the facility for rink viewing, events, practices, meetings, and other activities.
Provide professional and courteous customer service to all patrons.
Communicate effectively with full-time staff regarding scheduled visitors, meetings, and facility activities.
Work effectively as a team member while embracing and promoting Liberty University's mission.
Front Desk Operations
Monitor and record entry of guests, students, faculty, staff, and alumni utilizing the facility.
Maintain accurate visitor records and daily participation data.
Assist with guest check-in procedures and provide facility information as needed.
Track facility usage for reporting and operational purposes.
Package and Mail Handling
Receive, sort, and distribute incoming packages and mail for LaHaye Ice Center staff and Club Sports personnel.
Notify appropriate staff members and coaches of package arrivals.
Deliver packages and correspondence to designated offices when necessary.
Phone and Customer Communication
Answer incoming calls for the LaHaye Ice Center and Club Sports.
Provide accurate information regarding:
Coach contact information
Hockey camp programs
Public skating schedules
Open hockey and freestyle sessions
Ice rental opportunities
Hockey game schedules and ticket information
General facility operations and events
Direct calls and inquiries to the appropriate department or staff member.
Payment Processing
Process payments using approved university point-of-sale systems.
Complete transactions for:
Club Sports team dues
Team apparel and merchandise purchases
Concessions
Public event admissions, including public skate, open hockey, and freestyle sessions
Facility rentals and other approved charges
Maintain accuracy in cash handling and transaction processing procedures.
Administrative Support
Assist staff and coaches with various administrative responsibilities, including:
Updating university scheduling systems
Maintaining facility scheduling documents
Creating and modifying documents, spreadsheets, and reports
Assisting with customer service communications and operational records
Ensure records and documentation are maintained accurately and professionally.
Event and Facility Support
Assist with facility events, competitions, games, camps, and special programs as needed.
Support concessions operations during designated events.
Provide event staffing assistance, including guest services and operational support.
Assist with setup, breakdown, and general event logistics when assigned.
Additional Duties
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing Liberty University and Club Sports.
Required Qualifications
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to multitask and manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Liberty University.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
Ability to perform duties in a recreational and event-based environment.
Driving Requirements
If travel is in the performance of assigned duties, the use of a personal vehicle or Liberty University vehicle may be necessary. Employees must maintain:
A valid driver's license.
An acceptable driving record as determined by DMV review.
Liberty University Driving Approval.
Current automobile liability insurance.
Proof of all required documentation must be provided before operating a vehicle for university business.

Student employees are paid at least the current Virginia minimum wage per hour. Pay may vary by position and department based on job responsibilities, required skills, available funding, and market conditions.
