Position Announcement

Join Utah Valley University as a Coordinator I for Clubs and play a meaningful role in strengthening student engagement and involvement on campus. In this position, you will serve as a key point of support for student organizations-assisting with club registrations, processing requests, and providing direct, in-person service to students navigating club-related processes. Your work will help ensure that student groups operate smoothly and have the resources they need to create impactful experiences.

You'll collaborate on events, support marketing efforts, and assist with a variety of program initiatives that enhance student life. Summary of Responsibilities

  • Processes student club requests/forms related to campus scheduling, purchasing, signage/marketing, fundraising, etc., and verifies that submitted information is accurate.

  • Provides personalized outreach, guidance, and support to students throughout their club involvement. Communication with students includes email, Teams messaging, phone, and in-person meetings.

  • Supports the Department of Student Leadership & Involvements daily operations by providing individualized, drop-in assistance to students with club-related questions or needs.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned, necessary to the success of the clubs program and the Department of Student Leadership and Involvement, including assistance in executing departmental projects/events.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

  • Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate degree and two years of professional experience in a related discipline; OR a combination of education and experience totaling four years.
  • One or more years of experience in customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience within higher education, specifically student life and/or student leadership.
  • Work experience in customer service and data entry.

Knowledge

  • A knowledge of and commitment to student involvement.
  • A basic knowledge of planning, developing, and/or coordinating student events/activities.
  • An understanding and knowledge of common university services

Skills

  • Technological skills, including but not limited to word processing, email communications, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Basic skills in public speaking and presentation to small and large groups.
  • Basic customer service skills.
  • Skilled in time management and organization of independent workloads.

Utah Valley University

Utah Valley University was established in 1941 as Central Utah Vocational School (CUVS) with the primary function of providing war production training. CUVS was part of the Provo School District located in south Provo. The institution received a state appropriation in March 1945 of $50,000 to operate for the 1945-1947 biennium. In 1947, the school received funding as a permanent state institution. A new site for the school was acquired on University Avenue in Provo in 1948; in the 1952, the state appropriated funding for the first construction on that site. As enrollments grew, the state acquired over 185 acres in southwest Orem and the first building was completed in 1977. Today, the University’s facilities consist of a combined total of 412 acres with 50 buildings with campuses in Orem, Provo, and Heber City and property in Vineyard and at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi.
